Newcomers and Natives, Since 1963
Started in 1963 when diplomats posted to DC and locals who wanted a club found each other. Still that mix, which is why walking in knowing nobody is normal here.

We Owe the City Something
WRFC started Washington DC Youth Rugby in 2004. It now reaches 100+ kids a year, free, in schools and neighborhoods across all four quadrants, coached by our players.

Day Jobs, Then Boots On
Almost everyone here works full time. Practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, matches Saturdays, and a social side that is a good part of why people come back.

Ready to Come Down to a Practice?
Plenty of our players had never touched a rugby ball before their first WRFC practice. Others have played internationally. Both are welcome, and we sort you into a side that fits. Turning up knowing nobody is the ordinary way to join. Fill in the form below and someone will be in touch before the next session.
